Michael J. Koury Jr. has over 40 years experience in the practice of law, litigating cases in Iowa courts, practicing primarily in the area of family law, real estate law, business law, probate and wills. Michael is a member owner of Bush, Motto, Creen, Koury & Halligan since 2001, and was in private practice at Goebel & Koury prior to joining the law firm of Bush, Motto, Creen, Koury & Halligan, P.L.C.
Mr. Koury has been an active member of numerous professional organizations, and has also lectured on a variety of family law topics at CLE seminars.
Michael is an Iowa native, born and raised in Cedar Rapids. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, in 1969, he entered the U.S. Army, and served in the Staff Judge Advocate's office. While there, he received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal. After the army, Michael attended the University of Iowa College of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1974 and graduated With Distinction, and has been in private practice in Davenport, Iowa ever since. Michael taught business law during the evenings at St. Ambrose University, for more than 20 semesters. Michael looks forward to speaking with you about your legal matters.
